An injured or recently operated knee needs support and protection from incorrect loads. Above all, however, it needs help to help itself. Active movement is the only way to heal an injury completely and delay the progression of degenerative changes. The SofTec Genu provides a remedy and combines the properties of an orthosis with the advantages of a support: on the one hand, two joints limit the damaged range of movement of your knee to the desired level. This protects you from painful incorrect movements.
On the other hand, the special knitted fabric promotes the knee's self-perception towards more muscular stability and healthy movement sequences. The knitted fabric also ensures that the orthosis fits securely. Straps with Velcro fasteners and anatomically shaped functional pads around the kneecap also keep it in position.
SofTec Genu provides your knee with compact support and all-round stability. The "intelligent" orthotic joints can also be adapted precisely to your needs and anatomy. This allows you to start physiotherapy and gentle training at an early stage. A zipper in the calf area makes it easier to put on and take off.

Indications:
- Rupture of the anterior and/or posterior cruciate ligament (ACL/PCL) for conservative therapy, pre- and delayed post-operative care, long-term rehabilitation and chronic insufficiency
- Severe and/or complex instabilities
- Lateral ligament injuries
- To limit the range of motion (e.g. after meniscus fixation or meniscus implantation)
- Treatment of the "unstable knee joint" (e.g. severe osteoarthritis of the knee, rheumatoid arthritis, PCP, arthroplasty, genu recurvatum)
Care instructions:
Never expose the orthosis to direct heat. SofTec Genu can be washed separately by hand at 30°C using a mild detergent. To do this, the joint splints must first be removed from the side pockets. Proceed as follows:
- Open the two thigh straps. Pull the straps out of the plastic loops. Fasten the ends of the straps by folding them over. The side pockets can now be opened by pulling the entire Velcro area to the side
- Remove the two hinge rails. Remember that the joint splints are shaped to fit the body and are therefore different. The joint splints are color-coded according to their assignment and must be reinserted into the same side pockets from which they were removed after the washing process
- Before washing, feed the straps back through the plastic loops and close all Velcro fasteners so that the subsequent Velcro fastening is not impaired
- After washing and drying the SofTec Genu, insert the joint splint back into the side pockets. The colored marking of the joint splints and the colors of the inner pockets must match. The upper, color-coded part of the joint splint must be pushed back under the corresponding-colored inner pocket
- Now close the side pockets.
