How does the HALLUFIX® hallux valgus splint work?

Wearing recommendation:

The HALLUFIX® hallux valgus splint should be worn for a few hours at the beginning. We recommend wearing it regularly at night and during the day for approx. 2-3 hours (preferably at home).

Storing the splint or the gel side cushion in the refrigerator or freezer will provide pleasant cooling for reddened or hot bunions.

Putting on the splint:

First put on the metatarsak support and then the toe support. First tighten the wide metatarsal support at both ends and then secure both ends.

Then secure the small toe support.


Side effects:

There are no known side effects when used correctly. If local pressure symptoms or circulatory problems occur, please check if the splint is fitting correctly, loosen the supports or remove the splint. If necessary, consult a doctor or orthopaedic technician.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity and/or allergic reactions are not known with proper use. If passive correction of the hallux angle ist not possible, it is not advisable to wear the splint and consultation with your doctor is recommended.

In the case od the following conditions, the brace should only be fitted and worn after consulting your doctor: Skin diseases and injuries in the treated part of the body, especially in the case of inflammatory symptoms, as well as raised scars with swelling, redness, hypersensitivity to pressure, underlying joint arthritis, polyneurapathy (circulatory and sensory disorders in diabetes, for example), lymphatic drainage disorders - this also includes unclear soft tissue swelling that occurs on other parts of the body away form the applied orthosis.


Important notes:

The HALLUFIX® Hallux Valgus Splint should not be worn when swimming, at the beach or in water, as salt and sand could damage the splint joint.

To avoid soiling, it is advisable not to wear the splint barefoot. Better pull a stocking over the splint and foot.

The splint can be worn in comfortable shoes with a wide barefoot area and a wide entrance. It is important that the corrective effect of the splint is maintained.

Product liability is excluded in the event of improper use.

Warranty is granted within the scope of the statutory provisions.

The product must not be modified and only original HALLUFIX® parts may be used to ensure full functionality and to maintain product liability.

Supports are wearing materials and have an average service life of approx. 3 months, depending on how often they are worn and if used and cared for properly. A HALLUFIX® replacement set with supports and gel side cushions is available from specialist retailers.
